So as you can tell I have not posted to my blog here in a very very very long time.. tisk tisk.. Anyway, on my last post, I was thinking about going back to school. Well I finally bit the bullet, so to speak, and went back.. I am working on semester 1 or 2 however you look at it.
The one thing with online school is, you don't always use the books. But you have no way of knowing if you will or if you won't. This also runs true for supplies as well. Like most of us, we are all here for some sort of art major, whether it be graphic design, photography, drawing, painting.. doesn't matter.. my one class this term has us buying paint.. when you read about it, it looks like you will be painting for the majority of the 6 weeks.. well you use the paints once.
There were a bunch of us thinking of creating a place to trade tips and tricks, books, supplies, get help when needed and so forth for the art institute.
My first classes where Art History and Drawing.
Art History, well if you want a boring class... this is it. Its not a bad class per say, but in my opinion, it just dragged on. I did use my book to a point, but you could easily just use the www or the lectures in class and not spend the $130bucks for the book. The assignments are the same every week too, they don't change. I think this part made it harder to handle too, just for the sure fact that the same thing over and over gets old real quick.
Drawing, this class was better the one above. I mostly draw in pencil anyway, so i thought this was a wy to get back to my roots and get back to drawing. I did improve on my skills a little and met some really talented people. I DID NOT USE MY BOOKS at all.. don't purchase them, you will not use them under any circumstance.
If for any reason you want my books, I will gladly sell them to you for a reduced price.. if not I am going to sell them back to a college book store in my area. I really don't have a need for these on my book rack :)
Ok this is all my tips right now.. feel free to post anything here, its more then welcome :)
